VISIT SOUTHERN SNOWDONIA WITH IAN WORTH & HENRY TURNER

This brand-new photography tour has been created from the ground up for Autumn 2026 and features a completely fresh collection of locations that we have never visited on any of our previous workshops or tours.

While North Wales has always been one of our favourite areas to photograph, this adventure takes us away from our traditional routes and into the heart of Southern Snowdonia, exploring dramatic mountains, glacial lakes, hidden valleys, and some truly spectacular landscapes that many photographers overlook.

Join Ian Worth, Henry Turner, and up to seven other like-minded photographers for three days of exploration, creativity, and photography in one of the UK's most inspiring regions. Every location has been carefully selected to offer something different, making this an exciting opportunity both for those joining us for the first time and for participants who have previously attended our Snowdonia tours and are looking for a completely new experience.

Limited to just eight participants, this small-group tour offers plenty of opportunities for individual guidance, sharing ideas, and developing your photography while enjoying great company and some of the finest landscapes Wales has to offer.

Whether you're discovering North Wales for the first time or returning to photograph it from a fresh perspective, we think you're going to love this adventure.

During the tour, we'll visit a carefully selected range of spectacular locations including the iconic Cader Idris, the beautiful Mawddach Estuary, and the ancient woodlands of Coed y Brenin. Over the three days we'll photograph a mixture of mountain landscapes, waterfalls, forests, rivers, and coastal scenery, giving you a varied and rewarding photographic experience.

To make the most of our time together, we will travel between locations in a comfortable minibus, allowing everyone to relax and enjoy the journey while we access some of the area's most photogenic locations.

** Important - Our base for the tour will be Dolgellau, where we'll pick up and drop off participants each day. We kindly ask that you arrange your accommodation in this area, where there are plenty of excellent options to suit a range of budgets. If you'd like any recommendations or advice on where to stay, please don't hesitate to get in touch - we're always happy to help.

This tour is suitable for all skill levels, whether you're just starting out, or you're a more experienced photographer looking to refine your craft, discover new locations, and add fresh images to your portfolio.

7+ hours of photography guidance each day - 3 days - We will start at 11.30am each day and finish just after sunset - approx 6.30pm

Mini bus transport from Dolgellau and to all locations each day

Travel to and from Snowdonia is not included.

Accommodation is not included. (There’s lots of accommodation in Dolgellau which is near to the locations we will visit during the tour)

EQUIPMENT AND FITNESS.

• Camera Gear
  Bring your camera, memory cards, and a selection of lenses, but keep it practical as you'll be carrying everything with you. A tripod and any filters you regularly use are also recommended. If you don’t have a tripod or filters but would like to try them, let us know in advance and we can bring some for you to borrow.

  Outdoor Clothing
  Sturdy boots and proper outdoor clothing are essential. Waterproofs, warm layers, gloves, and a hat will help keep you comfortable in all weather conditions.

  Fitness
  A good level of fitness is important to get the most out of this tour. While we won’t be tackling anything extreme, you can expect walks of up to 2 to 3 hours each day on uneven and occasionally steep terrain. Some locations may involve climbing steps or navigating rough paths. If you’re unsure about the physical requirements, feel free to contact us before booking and we’ll be happy to chat it through.
