1-2-1 Online Photography Mentoring
For photographers who feel stuck - and want a clear, honest path forward
focused mentoring sessions to help you improve your work, build confidence in your creative voice, and explore realistic ways to earn money from your photography.
introduction
If you’ve been photographing for years but feel unsure where to focus next, you’re not alone.
Many photographers reach a point where their work feels inconsistent, their direction unclear, and the idea of earning from photography feels confusing or overwhelming.
This one-to-one mentoring is for people who want to slow things down, look closely at their work, and move forward with clarity and intention.
It’s not a course.
It’s a short, focused mentoring process designed to help you go from feeling stuck to having a clear, personal path forward.
Who it’s not for
This online mentoring probably isn’t right if you:
Are completely new to photography
Want shortcuts or formulas
Are mainly interested in trends or fast growth
Aren’t open to honest feedback and doing the work between sessions
What we’ll work on together
Depending on your goals, we may focus on:
Improving the quality and consistency of your work
Clarifying your creative direction and personal voice
Exploring realistic ways your photography could earn money over time
Refining how you share and present your work (ie: website, newsletters, blogs, social media, YouTube)
There’s no fixed syllabus - the mentoring adapts to you.
How the mentoring works
3 × 2-hour one-to-one online sessions
Spread over 3 weeks
Each session builds on the last
Sessions are done online via Teams
Session 1 — Clarity & Direction
We take an honest look at your work, your goals, and where you feel stuck.
Session 2 — Building Momentum
We refine your approach and begin shaping how your work can be shared or supported financially in a way that suits your life.
Session 3 — Sustainability
We bring everything together and look ahead, leaving you with a clear plan for the months to come.
Between sessions, you’ll have simple, focused goals to work on, nothing overwhelming, just meaningful progress.
By the end of the mentoring, most people feel clearer, more confident, and better equipped to move forward on their own.
About me
I’m Ian and I’ve been a professional photographer for nearly two decades, with a background in portraits, events, commercial work, and over eight years working professionally in landscape photography.
My long-term goal was always simple: to earn a living from photographs I wanted to take for myself, not just for clients.
This mentoring is a way to pass on what I’ve learned, calmly, honestly, and without hype.
Pricing
£950 for the full three-week mentoring
Includes three 2-hour sessions, with weekly tasks and goals
Optional continuation
Additional sessions are available at £300 per 2-hour session, only if it feels useful.
Next steps
If this sounds like something you’d benefit from, the next step is simple.
Apply for mentoring
Applications are informal and simply help ensure this is a good fit for both of us.
I only take on one mentoring program at a time so I can give each person my full attention, which means places are limited.
This is slow, thoughtful work, and it works best when it’s right for the right person.
To get started, use the contact button below and tell me a little about yourself and what you’d like to achieve. From there, we can begin a conversation and see if the mentoring is a good fit.
A note from a recent one-to-one session
“Spending time with you one-to-one really helped me see my photography differently. You explained things in a way that just made sense, and I came away feeling far more confident about my work and where I’m heading with it.
What surprised me most was how practical the advice was. It wasn’t just about taking better photos it helped me understand what to focus on.
Since the sessions, I’ve just sold my first ever print, which felt like a massive milestone for me. I honestly don’t think I’d have taken that step without the encouragement I got from working with you.
